RL-TNG is the in-house tuning brand of RL-Angelrollentuning. The components come directly from what is visible in the shop and on the water: Spool Bearings that have exactly the startup behavior needed for casting, and carbon handles designed for pike, catfish, and zander fishing in the DACH region.
The idea behind it is simple. If a specific bearing specification or handle setup is missing in the market or not available in the right price-performance class, RL-TNG develops the suitable solution itself. Over the years, this has resulted in a well-thought-out range that fills the gaps left open by other brands.
The core of RL-TNG is the three-tier bearing system. Designed so that the right class is available for every reel and every application, without compromises in manufacturing quality.
RL-TNG Apex (Highspeed Bearings): The performance class. Highspeed steel bearings with the highest speed rating. Optimized for maximum startup behavior and longest casting distance. The first choice when you want to get the maximum casting performance out of your reel, especially with medium to heavy lures and in the big-bait sector.
RL-TNG Edge (Hybrid Bearings): The all-rounder class. Hybrid construction with ceramic balls and corrosion-resistant steel. Combines the advantages of both worlds: fast startup like ceramic, plus the robustness of a steel outer ring. Also suitable for saltwater. The Edge class is the most popular solution in the range because it offers the best price-performance ratio for most applications.
RL-TNG Core (Stainless Steel Bearings): The solid base. Stainless steel bearings with precise manufacturing, durable and straightforward. The right choice when an older reel needs a fresh bearing setup or a reliable tuning level without frills is required.
All three classes are available in common sizes (730, 830, 1030, 1150) and fit most Shimano, Daiwa, Abu Garcia, and Lew's baitcasters.

Also important: bearing tuning works the same on DC reels. The DC brake itself is electronic and not tunable, but the spool bearings are a mechanical system like on any other baitcaster. Clean bearings also provide longer casts and better startup behavior on Antares DC, Calcutta Conquest DC, or Aldebaran DC.
In addition to the bearings, carbon cranks for baitcasters are part of the RL-TNG range. Currently available:
RL-TNG DRG 95 Carbon Handle: A 95mm carbon crank developed for all-round casting with DACH-typical lure presentation. Light, responsive, and stable enough for medium-weight fights. With over 100 reviews in the shop, one of the bestsellers in the carbon handle segment.
RL-TNG TGR 95 Carbon Handle: The second line of 95mm carbon handles. Different shaft geometry, different knob configuration. The alternative for anglers who find the DRG line ergonomically or visually unsuitable.
Both handles are made of carbon, which significantly reduces rotational inertia compared to aluminum and improves startup behavior during casting. Low weight, precise shaft geometry, and stable knob attachment.
RL-TNG components arise from direct contact with anglers. When a certain bearing specification is repeatedly requested in the shop that is not available on the market, it flows into product development. When a carbon handle from Asia looks good but is too unstable for German pike fishing, a unique geometry is created.
This is not a marketing story but the consequence of the fact that RL-TNG components are used by the same people who sell them. Tuning parts that do exactly what they are supposed to do.
