APEX Ball Bearings

RL - Angelrollentuning - APEX Kugellager - BC Kugellager - 5x11x4 -

Experience an unparalleled level of speed and performance in your fishing reel with the APEX High Speed Ceramic Ball Bearings in ABEC 9 Premium Quality!

Thanks to the ceramic bearings in the PEEK Polyether Ether Ketone ribbon cage, the spool of your baitcasting reel starts up lightning fast and reaches significantly higher rotational speeds.

Cast lighter lures and achieve a noticeable improvement in casting distance, with up to 30% more casting distance possible.

What does ABEC 9 mean?

ABEC is a standard that specifies manufacturing tolerance. The higher the number, the more precise the manufacturing and the smoother the bearing runs. The standard only uses odd numbers.

ABEC 9 ball bearings offer premium quality and are on par with the competition.

Why use tuning bearings?

The ball bearings installed in fishing reels from the factory often have poor rotational capabilities due to dirt and grease, which causes friction.

The High Speed ball bearings are delivered dry and feature an anti-rubber cover on one side and are open on the other side, making these ball bearings optimized for maximum performance by minimizing friction.

Long durability

The ball bearings can be operated dry, but we recommend oiling them. The best choice is Alchemy Oil from Hedgehog Studio or Ultra Light Cast Lube from Deuthlon.

This increases their longevity and significantly reduces bearing noise. A drop of oil is enough to enjoy them for a long time.

FAQ – Spool Bearings for Baitcasting Reels

Yes. For maximum casting distance, smooth spool start, and harmonious operation, both relevant spool bearings should always be replaced at the same time.

Only then does the bearing upgrade fully unfold its effect.

Our spool bearing sets each include the two relevant bearings for your baitcasting reel.

This gives you the complete solution for a clean and coordinated upgrade.

Installation instructions are not included.

If a bearing is mounted on the Spool, it is usually held in place by a small retaining pin.

For a safe and damage-free removal, a Pin Remover is recommended.

This helps you avoid bent pins or damaged spool shafts.

APEX bearings are ideal for very light to medium casting weights.

EDGE bearings cover a wide all-round range.

CORE bearings are designed for higher continuous loads and heavy lures.

What matters is your typical area of use.

Open the sideplate of your reel and remove the spool.

If a bearing is located directly on the spool shaft, it is the design with spool bearing.

If there is no bearing there, it is usually located in the sideplate under the spool tension.

For spool bearings, a single, thinly dosed drop of high-quality spool bearing oil is sufficient.

Too much oil creates unnecessary resistance and reduces the rotation speed.

Yes, absolutely. The DC system electronically regulates the brake curve, but it does not replace mechanical friction in the spool bearing.

A high-quality spool bearing significantly reduces this friction and noticeably improves spool startup. The spool starts faster, runs more freely, and responds more sensitively.

This is especially noticeable in the light to medium casting weight range.

DC is not a brake against performance but a complement to mechanical optimization. A precise spool bearing and the DC system work together, not against each other.
