Find tuning parts for your fishing reel

Find your reel above in the finder, click on it. On the reel page, you will then see all the matching parts — spool bearing sets, knobs, cranks, star brakes, whatever is relevant for your model. No guessing reel, no independent research.

Our three reel bearing classes:

• CORE — solid standard tuning, good value for money, significantly better than the factory bearings
• EDGE — higher-quality bearings for noticeably longer casts and smoother casting
• APEX — the best we can recommend for your reel, uncompromisingly focused on maximum performance

The reel page will tell you which class is right for your reel — we recommend per series.

For most tunings, standard tools are sufficient: screwdriver, tweezers, possibly an Allen key. On some Shimano baitcasters (Curado, Bantam, SLX, and others), the spool is secured with a small pin — you need it to remove the bearing. For this, there is the Pin-Remover, a simple special tool. On the reel page, you can see if you need one — if so, it is linked directly.

Yes — with one limitation. The DC brake itself is electronic and cannot be tuned, there’s nothing to adjust. But Bearing tuning works just as well on DC reels as on any other — you get longer casts and smoother spool behavior. Swapping knobs and cranks is also easy.

On each Reel page, you will find the recommended knob sizes directly below the image. We have researched this manually for each series. For example, if you have an SLX and 25–27 mm is recommended, you immediately know which knobs belong in your shopping cart.

Tuning is reversible — all parts can be removed again. So if you ever want to go to Shimano service, you just reinstall the original parts and everything is as it was from the factory.

Regarding the warranty: Bearing replacement is usually unproblematic (spool bearings are wear parts). When replacing cranks or components, there can theoretically be warranty discussions — but in practice, most warranty cases involve damage unrelated to the tuning.

Clear. With spinning reels, it's mainly about different knobs, longer cranks, line rollers, and reel stands. Just search for your Stella, Stradic, Tatula, etc. in the finder — we'll show you what fits. Spool bearing sets aren't available for spinning reels; that's a baitcaster thing.
