RL-TNG CORE Ball Bearings

RL - Angelrollentuning - CORE Kugellager - BC Kugellager - 3x10x4 -

The CORE Bearings are the robust solution for demanding baitcaster setups with higher casting weights. They stand for stability, durability, and consistent performance under sustained heavy use.

Construction and Material

CORE bearings are based on an ABEC 5 precision standard with high-quality stainless steel raceways and a sturdy ball and cage design. This construction is deliberately designed for mechanical durability and long-lasting performance.

  • ABEC 5 precision standard
  • High-quality stainless steel construction
  • Stable ball guidance
  • High load capacity for heavy casts

Performance Characteristics

CORE spool bearings are not optimized for maximum speed in the ultra-light range but for controlled, stable rotation under load. Especially with powerful casts and heavier lure weights, the performance remains consistent and reliable.

Recommended Application Range

The optimal application range is for a casting weight from 8 g to over 200 g. This makes CORE bearings ideal for heavy setups, larger lures, and sustained high loads.

Classification within Bearing Classes

For maximum spool acceleration with very light lures, the APEX class is tuned more sensitively. For versatile all-round applications between light and medium, the EDGE class is positioned.

CORE is the right choice when stability, durability, and reliable performance are the priorities.

FAQ – Spool Bearings for Baitcasting Reels

Yes. For maximum casting distance, a smooth spool start-up, and harmonious operation, both relevant spool bearings should always be replaced at the same time.

Only then can the Bearing Upgrade deliver its full effect.

Our spool Bearing sets each include the two relevant Bearings for your baitcasting reel.

This gives you the complete solution for a smooth and well-matched upgrade.

Installation instructions are not included.

When a Bearing is mounted on the Spool, it is generally held in place by a small retaining pin.

For safe, damage-free removal, we recommend a Pin Remover.

This helps prevent bent pins or damaged spool shafts.

APEX Bearings are ideal for very light to medium casting weights.

EDGE Bearings cover a broad all-round range.

CORE Bearings are designed for higher continuous loads and heavy lures.

Your typical application range is the deciding factor.

Open the side plate of your Reel and remove the Spool.

If a Bearing is mounted directly on the Spool shaft, it is the version with a Spool Bearing.

If there is no Bearing there, it is usually located in the side plate beneath the Spool tension.

A single, small drop of high-quality spool bearing oil is sufficient for spool bearings.

Too much oil creates unnecessary resistance and reduces the rotational speed.

Yes, absolutely. The DC system electronically regulates the braking curve, but it does not replace mechanical friction in the Spool bearing.

A high-quality Spool bearing significantly reduces this friction and noticeably improves spool startup. The spool starts faster, runs more freely, and responds more sensitively.

This is particularly noticeable in the light to medium casting-weight range.

DC is not a brake on performance, but a complement to mechanical optimization. A precise Spool bearing and the DC system work together, not against each other.
