We have carried Gomexus from day one. Even when the brand launched in Asia in 2017 and no one in Europe knew the name yet, we already had the first knobs in our range. Over the years, this has developed into a true partnership, with direct contact to the manufacturer and the goal of probably having the most complete Gomexus range in stock in the EU.
Currently, over 180 Gomexus products are listed with us, from the smallest screw to the complete Power Handle. This covers practically every common Shimano, Daiwa, Abu Garcia, or Lew's reel. When Gomexus releases something new, it usually appears with us as one of the first shops in Europe.
Gomexus was founded in 2017 with a pretty clear attitude. The founder traded a secure career path for $4,500 in startup capital and said: "A real company shouldn’t be kept like a zoo animal on corporate ready-made food. It has to go into the wild and fend for itself." That exact attitude is still part of the brand today.
Instead of designing tuning parts in a boardroom, Gomexus has worked with real anglers from the start. Through the so-called Coach Program, local anglers worldwide are involved in product development: They test prototypes on the water, give feedback on weight, material, shape, and ergonomics, and their experiences flow directly into the next series. The result is tuning parts developed by anglers for anglers, not by engineers in air-conditioned offices.
The brand philosophy is "Stay simple, stay evolution". Simply put: focus on the essentials, honest craftsmanship, no flashy marketing. This clarity convinced us from the start and is why we still consider Gomexus one of our core brands today.
In less than ten years, Gomexus has grown from an unknown garage brand to probably the most well-known tuning address worldwide. Three reasons define the brand:
Breadth over depth: Gomexus is not a specialist for a single part but a generalist for almost everything you can change on your reel. If you want solid-level tuning at a fair price, with a wide choice of materials and colors, Gomexus is just right.
Material variety: For most components, you can choose between aluminum, carbon, cork, TPE, titanium, and wood, often in combinations. This lets you customize your reel not only functionally but also visually to your taste. The material choice specifically affects weight, grip, and feel, so consulting before purchase is worthwhile.
Compatibility as a design principle: Gomexus develops each part with an eye on the common reel models on the market. This makes pre-purchase research easier but not unnecessary. Checking if the part fits your reel before buying remains mandatory, which is why we built the Reel Finder.
If you’re new to reel tuning and don’t know where to start, here’s a brief overview of the main product categories. Detailed descriptions can be found in the respective subcategories.
Knobs (Crank Handles): what you hold in your hand when cranking. The largest category at Gomexus, from the 20mm Finesse Knob for spinning reels to the large-volume Power Knob for pike fishing. To the Gomexus Knobs
Baitcaster Handles: complete cranks from 80mm to 130mm in length, made of aluminum or carbon, with or without mounted knobs. Mainly for Shimano and Daiwa baitcasters. To the Baitcaster Handles
Star Drags: on baitcasters, the part you touch most often during the fight. Gomexus makes the star drags more ergonomic than the originals, in more colors and with clearer detents. To the Star Drags
Spinning Reel Cranks: complete cranks for spinning reels, always with significantly more color options than the original manufacturer offers. To the Spinning Reel Cranks
Line Guide Rollers: the wear-prone part on the spinning reel bail. Original rollers often seize after one or two seasons; Gomexus versions with stainless steel ball bearings last significantly longer. To the Line Guide Rollers
Reel Stands: the aluminum stand foot for your spinning reel that protects it from scratches when set down. R4 fixed, R6 foldable. To the Reel Stands
Spools, Tension Caps, Pliers, Small Parts: the specialized tuning parts and workshop supplies. Spools, Tension Caps, Pliers, Small Parts
Three things we do differently than most:
Availability: We keep a large part of the Gomexus range permanently in stock. Where other shops have to request products after ordering and you then wait weeks, with us it usually ships directly from the German warehouse. Even rarer variants and colors are available from us.
Advice: We know the Gomexus products ourselves from years of experience. If you’re not sure whether a certain knob fits your Shimano Aldebaran BFS or which handle length makes sense for your pike combo, just contact us. We usually reply the same day.
Selection: Over 180 Gomexus products constantly in stock. This also includes special parts often missing elsewhere, e.g., aluminum spools for rarer baitcaster models, large power knobs for big-game setups, or complete star drag series in all colors.
Gomexus makes tuning parts with high compatibility but not universal. Before every purchase, you should check whether the desired part fits your reel. For baitcaster handles, this is usually a question of axle bore (Shimano 7x4mm, Daiwa and Abu 8x5mm), for knobs the knob bore, for star drags the star drag spec.
If you’re unsure, use the Reel Finder. There you select your reel and get the matching tuning parts displayed directly, without having to work through compatibility lists. If your reel is not listed there or you have other questions, contact us via the contact page.
