Yumeya I-Shaped SS Knob

RL - Angelrollentuning - Yumeya I - Shaped SS Knob - Knob -

The Yumeya I-Shaped SS Knob is for everyone who doesn’t want to just touch anything on their reel, but wants to immediately feel that the setup fits perfectly with every crank contact. The knob is made of grippy rubber, feels comfortable in the hand, and adds almost no unnecessary weight to the handle at just 2.3 g. 😎

  • Rubber surface for more grip in wet, cold conditions and during long sessions; plus, the knob feels much more pleasant than hard standard solutions.
  • Only 2.3 g weight, so your setup stays light and direct, and the reel doesn’t feel top-heavy or sluggish.
  • Approx. 18 mm diameter, giving you a compact, controlled feel, which often makes more difference in fine control than you might first think.

Yumeya SS Knob, why the upgrade is worth it

Many reels run okay straight from the factory, but not so well that you immediately grin. That’s exactly where a good knob comes in, because you get more feel, more control, and a noticeably better tactile experience with every grip. Especially if standard knobs feel too smooth, too hard, or just too generic, this Shimano Yumeya knob is a really well-rounded solution.

  • ✅ More grip and control when cranking
  • ✅ More comfortable feel in the hand, even during long sessions
  • ✅ Lightweight upgrade without unnecessary extra mass
  • ✅ Clean Yumeya look for a cohesive setup

I Shape Knob, dimensions & feel

With about 18 mm diameter, the knob is deliberately compact. This makes it interesting for anglers who like direct contact with the reel and don’t need an oversized power knob. The rubber ensures a secure grip, while the low weight of 2.3 g keeps the sensitive handling of your reel intact.

  • Material: rubber, for more grip and comfort
  • Weight: approx. 2.3 g, for a light and harmonious setup
  • Diameter: approx. 18 mm, for compact control and clear feedback

Yumeya I-Shaped SS Knob, who it’s for

This knob is especially suitable for anglers who want to optimize their setup deliberately instead of immediately buying the next expensive reel. Because often it’s exactly the feel that makes the difference in everyday use. If you want more control but don’t want a bulky knob, this shape is really strong. 🎣

  • For fine lure control, because you work more directly on the handle
  • For long fishing days, because rubber simply feels nicer in the hand
  • For stylish setups, because Yumeya looks like a deliberate upgrade, not a standard part

Accessories for Yumeya I-Shaped SS Knob

If you want to mount the knob cleanly or make it run smoother right away, suitable bearings are a must, because that’s where “nice” becomes really good. That’s why the Core Knob Bearing Set, 4 pieces fits perfectly as an accessory.

  • More smoothness, because the knob runs cleaner and freer
  • Better feel, because nothing feels sticky or cheap
  • Meaningful upgrade, because a good knob with matching bearings is simply more complete

Installation, quick guide & pro tip

  1. Carefully disassemble the knob and lay out all small parts neatly.
  2. Check existing bushings or bearings, then replace or add as needed.
  3. Assemble everything without tension and immediately check the operation after tightening.

Pro tip: Always tighten screws gently, because too much pressure kills the smooth operation faster than you’d like. If you upgrade the bearings right away, the knob often feels noticeably more premium.

Conclusion, Yumeya I-Shaped SS Knob

The Yumeya I-Shaped SS Knob is a small upgrade with a noticeable effect, because grip, comfort, and control improve with every crank. Light, grippy, and pleasantly compact — exactly the kind of tuning part that makes you wonder after the first casts why it wasn’t installed earlier. 😉

FAQ – Crank Handles for Baitcasting Reels

Our knobs are compatible with many baitcasting reels that have a Type A or Type S knob mount. These systems are used on many reels from Shimano and Daiwa.

If your reel is not listed in the compatibility list, it does not automatically mean that the knob won’t fit. Many reels use the same knob mounts across several model generations.

In the tab “Your reel isn’t listed?” you will find instructions on how to check compatibility yourself.

Yes, in most cases it is very simple. On many reels, the knob is held in place by a small screw located under a cap on the knob.

If you loosen this screw, you can remove the old knob and install the new one. The replacement usually only takes a few minutes.

Usually, a small screwdriver is enough. With it, you can loosen the screw under the knob cap and remove the crank handle.

Installing a new knob is usually quick and does not require any special tools.

Type A and Type S are standardized knob mounts used on many fishing reels. They determine how the knob is attached to the crank.

Many baitcasting reels from Shimano and Daiwa use these systems, which is why our knobs are compatible with a wide range of reels.

The size of a knob is specified by the diameter at its thickest point.

Small knobs (approx. 18–20 mm) offer a very direct feel and are especially suitable for BFS and ultralight setups.

Medium knobs (approx. 21–24 mm) are very versatile and provide a good balance of comfort and control. They fit most all-round setups.

Larger knobs (approx. 25–27 mm) offer more grip surface and are comfortable when fighting bigger fish.

Very large knobs (30–40 mm) are often used in big bait or saltwater setups.

Technically, this is often possible as long as the recording fits. However, the size should be chosen sensibly according to the reel.

A very large or heavy knob can accelerate the crank more strongly due to its own weight and the resulting centrifugal force than some light reels are designed for.

Especially with very light baitcasting reels or BFS reels, a knob that is too large can increase the load on the gear. Therefore, it is advisable to use light and appropriately sized knobs for small reels.

The material mainly affects the grip feel.

EVA is very lightweight and non-slip.

TPE or silicone offer a soft surface and high comfort.

Cork provides a natural grip feel and is very light.

Carbon is extremely light and offers direct feedback.

Aluminum is very robust and durable.

Wood offers a unique look and a natural feel.

Rubber provides especially high grip, even when wet.

Which option fits best depends greatly on personal preferences and the area of use.
