When replacing the spool bearing , it is advisable to use a tool to reliably remove the spool shaft pin.
There are professional tools for this, such as the Spool Bearing Pin Remover Type R from Hedgehog Studio .
Especially with manufacturers such as Abu Garcia, Lew's, Daiwa, or Quantum, a special tool is necessary to remove the pin.
Note: The spool shaft pin is not attached to Shimano reels, so the remover is not necessary in most cases.
With the Remover Type R you can easily and safely remove the coil shaft pin.
The cross wrench is made of high-strength stainless steel.
The key length and screw piece are designed to apply even and secure pressure to the pin.
This means that it is pushed cleanly out of the spool without bending or scratching.
