Hedgehog Studio Spool Bearing Pin Remover Type R | Spool Shaft Pin Tool

When replacing the spool bearing, it is advisable to use a tool to reliably remove the spool shaft pin.
There are professional tools for this, such as the Spool Bearing Pin Remover Type R from Hedgehog Studio.

Especially for manufacturers like Abu Garcia, Lew’s, Daiwa, or Quantum, a special tool is necessary to remove the pin.

Note: For Shimano reels, the spool shaft pin is not fixed, so in most cases the remover is not required here.

With the Remover Type R, you can easily and safely remove the spool shaft pin.

The cross wrench is made of high-strength stainless steel.
The wrench length and the screw part are designed to apply even and secure pressure on the pin.
This pushes it cleanly out of the spool without bending or scratching it.

Compatible models:

You can use the tool on almost all reels from Abu Garcia, Daiwa, Tail Walk, Quantum, Shimano, and Lew’s.

Non-compatible models:

• Daiwa Steez AIR TW
• Daiwa Alphas AIR TW
• Shimano Calcutta Conquest 50S/51S
• Saltwater reels with an extremely large spool size, such as the Ocean Jigger from Shimano
