Our knobs are compatible with many baitcaster reels from Shimano and Daiwa that have a Type A or Type S knob mount.
In the following list, you will find a selection of common reel models.
Your Reel is not listed? No problem – in the tab "Your Reel is not listed?" we show you how to check yourself if the knobs fit your reel.
Don't worry – if your reel is not on the compatibility list, that doesn't necessarily mean our knobs won't fit. Many manufacturers use the same knob mounts across several model generations.
With a few simple steps, you can check yourself whether our knobs fit your fishing reel.
First, take a closer look at the handle knob of your reel. On most reels, there is a small cap on top of the knob.
This cap can usually be carefully removed:
Under this cap, you will usually find the screw that attaches the knob to the handle.
Now it gets interesting. Under the cap, you will see either:
Riveted knobs are usually found only on very inexpensive reels and generally cannot be easily replaced.
If there is a screw, you can simply loosen it with a small screwdriver. Then the knob can be pulled off the handle.
Now measure the shaft of the handle where the knob sits.
For our knobs, the dimensions should be approximately:
If these dimensions fit, you can usually install our knobs without any problems.
Here you can see exactly where to measure.

The right crank knob (knob) significantly influences the grip feel, control, and comfort while fishing. Depending on the fishing technique, reel size, and personal preference, a different knob may be more suitable.
Knob size is usually specified by the diameter at the thickest point – not by the length. This diameter determines how much contact area your hand has with the knob.
Typical use: BFS, finesse, ultralight baitcasters
Typical use: allround baitcasters, zander, perch, pike
Typical use: pike, larger lures, stronger reels
Typical use: bigbait, large swimbaits, saltwater
Basically, larger knobs can also be mounted on smaller reels as long as the fitting matches. Technically, this is often possible.
However, you should pay attention to choosing a knob size that makes sense for the reel. A very large or heavy knob can significantly accelerate the crank due to its own weight and the resulting centrifugal force, more than some light reels are designed for.
Especially with very light baitcaster reels, BFS reels, or finely built gearboxes, a knob that is too large can increase the load on the mechanism. In the worst case, this can lead to more wear or even damage to the gearbox over time.
Therefore: just because a knob can be mounted does not automatically make it the best choice for the respective setup. For small and light reels, it is advisable to opt for light and appropriately sized knobs.
Here is a quick guide to which size fits which setup:
Ultimately, choosing the right knob is always a matter of personal grip feel. Many anglers prefer larger knobs for more comfort, while smaller knobs offer more direct feedback from the reel.
The RL-TNG OCT 24 Pure is the white sister of our OCT 24 EVA Knobs, designed for those who want an uncompromisingly clean look on their Reel. Instead of black EVA, this one uses white, dense EVA, along with three reduced knob cap colors and deliberately no logo engraving. Pure, simply.
Like the black OCT 24, the Pure also uses a dense, closed-cell EVA. The material does not absorb water, does not swell even after hours in water, and returns cleanly after pressure. Saltwater, sweat, sun, sand, all no problem. Exactly the same material as the original OCT, just in white.
Identical to the proven OCT geometry: 24 mm at the widest point, 40 mm length, ergonomic round knob shape with a finger indentation in the middle for grip during fast cranking and when fighting larger fish. The rotation is ball bearing without play, keeping the weight light so the balance of the Reel is not affected.
The Pure edition comes with three reduced cap options:
Directly compatible with Shimano Type A (Stella, Curado, Stradic, Metanium, and others) and Daiwa Type S (Tatula, Certate, Steez, Exist, and others). No adjustment needed. Full model list in the product tabs.
The Pure is the minimalist edition of our OCT family. Those looking for the classic with black EVA and six colored knob cap options can still find it as the RL-TNG OCT 24 EVA Knob in the range.
