The Nays HNTR (Hunter) is a big-bait paddle-tail designed for targeted fishing of large predators. The bulky body and wide paddle-tail generate intense pressure waves and a pronounced rolling action that reliably attract predators even over long distances. Available in two lengths: 9 and 11 inches, the HNTR is the paddle-tail big-bait option in the Nays range for pike, large zander, and huchen.
The HNTR focuses on maximum volume: a bulky body with a wide paddle-tail delivers the key stimuli that a large predator perceives. The paddle-tail turns even at the slowest retrieve and produces a continuous pressure wave that the predator’s lateral line can clearly detect over long distances. The typical Nays ribs on the sides further enhance the pressure waves. This makes the HNTR perfect as a slow-roll bait on the shallow rig, keeping the lure in the predator’s field of vision for a long time and provoking even sluggish big fish to bite.
The HNTR unfolds its full effect on the shallow rig: retrieved extremely slowly, the lure remains present for a long time and gives the predator time for the final attack. With additional lead weight, the HNTR can also be offered in deeper water layers; the bulky body provides enough buoyancy to maintain the action. The HNTR also works well on a jig head with a large offset hook, especially for casts into medium depths.
Pike, large zander, huchen, and larger predators. The HNTR is the targeted big-bait for anglers who don’t just cast to search but fish deliberately for big fish.
The HNTR is the paddle-tail big-bait variant in the Nays range and complements the Nays GHST (pike twister with curly tail) with the paddle-tail characteristic. Together, both big-baits cover the two most important tail-action classes for targeted pike fishing: GHST delivers the continuous pressure wave of the curly tail, HNTR the pronounced rolling action of the wide paddle-tail. Those who can flexibly choose between both action styles have the right answer for every predator situation.
