  • Durable and saltwater resistant

✅ 2x Wormshaft Bearings – Stainless Steel (ABEC 5)

  • Noticeably optimize line lay
  • No more jerking or irregularities when retrieving

✅ 2x Knob Bearings – Stainless Steel (ABEC 5)

  • For buttery smooth cranking without play in the handle
  • Significantly more feel when guiding and fighting fish

🧠 Quick check: Which bearings do you need to replace on your Tatula?

➡️ Is a bearing sitting directly on the Spool?
👉 Then replace Spool Bearings on the Spool + Sideplate Bearing.

➡️ No bearing directly visible?
👉 Then it sits under the Spool Tension Cap – here Cap Bearing + Sideplate Bearing need to be replaced.

Note:
Only if both spool bearings are new will you achieve maximum smoothness and full casting power! 🏹

💬 Here’s how to find out:

  1. Open the sideplate (usually secured by the drag screw)
  2. Carefully remove the spool
  3. Check:

Bearing visible on the spool? → Replace spool + sideplate bearing

No bearing visible? → Replace tension cap + sideplate bearing

👉 Tip:
In many Tatula models, the bearing is well hidden – better look twice!

🔧 Tool tip: Don’t forget the Pin Remover!

If the spool bearing is fixed by a small pin:
➡️ Save yourself swearing and scratches – get the Pin Remover Tool right away.

👉 Here’s the Pin Remover Tool

🧲 Compatibility:

  • Suitable for a variety of Daiwa Tatula models

💡 Note:
Please check before installation whether your reel uses spool or axle bearings (see instructions above).

🥇 Technical highlights:

FAQ – Spool Bearings for Baitcasting Reels

Yes. For maximum casting distance, smooth spool start, and harmonious operation, both relevant spool bearings should always be replaced at the same time.

Only then does the bearing upgrade fully unfold its effect.

Our spool bearing sets each include the two relevant bearings for your baitcasting reel.

This gives you the complete solution for a clean and coordinated upgrade.

Installation instructions are not included.

If a bearing is mounted on the Spool, it is usually held in place by a small retaining pin.

For a safe and damage-free removal, a Pin Remover is recommended.

This helps you avoid bent pins or damaged spool shafts.

APEX bearings are ideal for very light to medium casting weights.

EDGE bearings cover a wide all-round range.

CORE bearings are designed for higher continuous loads and heavy lures.

What matters is your typical area of use.

Open the sideplate of your reel and remove the spool.

If a bearing is located directly on the spool shaft, it is the design with spool bearing.

If there is no bearing there, it is usually located in the sideplate under the spool tension.

For spool bearings, a single, thinly dosed drop of high-quality spool bearing oil is sufficient.

Too much oil creates unnecessary resistance and reduces the rotation speed.

Yes, absolutely. The DC system electronically regulates the braking curve, but it does not replace mechanical friction in the spool bearing.

A high-quality spool bearing significantly reduces this friction and noticeably improves spool startup. The spool starts faster, runs more freely, and responds more sensitively.

This is especially noticeable in the light to medium casting weight range.

DC is not a brake against performance, but a complement to mechanical optimization. A precise spool bearing and the DC system work together, not against each other.
