The Gomexus Reel Stand R40 KAGE is a reel stand for anyone who wants to protect their spinning reel without feeling extra weight on the Reel. It weighs just approx. 2 g, barely more than the original cover cap, yet its 40 mm length keeps the spool edge and bail off the ground.
The R40 is CNC-machined from a single piece of aluminum and hollowed out until only around 2 g remains. Its surface is double-anodized to withstand saltwater and prevent the color from fading.
When you set your rod down on a pier, riprap, or in a boat, the Reel rests on the R40 rather than on the spool edge. This keeps the Spool, bail, and body free of scratches, sand, and dirt. The stand also has a hook keeper: attach your lure to the eyelet at the front or to one of the side cutouts, then walk safely to your next spot.
Important: O-ring: Always place the O-ring on the outside of the Reel Stand’s thread, then screw it in. Never put it directly into the reel body, as it could rub against the gears or bearings.
Ideal for lightweight spinning reels when targeting perch or trout, for ultralight fishing, shore spinning, and eging. It performs best on Reel in sizes 1000 to 2500, but according to Gomexus, it also fits many Reel up to size 5000.
For Shimano and Daiwa spinning reels with a screw-in handle, including:
You can find the exact model years and sizes in the compatibility list on this page. Not compatible with Reel with a through-shaft crank (the handle turns along with the shaft) or Daiwa 26 SF models.
If you want more protection for larger Reel, take a look at the Gomexus Reel Stand R2 with its 48 mm length. The R40 is the lightest stand in the range and is designed specifically for finesse and ultralight reels, where every gram counts.
