In Japan, a special type of fishing was developed, known as "Gekkabijin", which means "Queen of the Night" in German.
It involves using ultra-light saltwater fishing equipment, complemented by micro plastic lures combined with tiny, slowly sinking jigs. This technique is mainly used for fishing species like rockfish (Mebaru) and yellowtail mackerel (Ajing).

Packed with high-end technology

According to Daiwa, casting 1-2 g lures works very well already – now that’s a statement!

The Gekkabijin features an ultra-light and flat 28 mm diameter Air Spool, specially designed for very thin braided line.
The micro ball bearings in the spool ensure a very smooth operation of the fishing reel and reduce friction to a minimum.

The Magforce Air Brake System, which works wonderfully with the Air Spool, provides long casting distances without the dreaded backlashes.

The popular TWS T Wing gives the line more freedom of movement, which further reduces friction and results in up to 5% more casting distance.

The housing of the BFS baitcasting reel is made from a high-quality aluminum alloy and is saltwater resistant.

For the adrenaline rush, Daiwa has built a line-out clicker, also known as a drag clicker, into the reel from the factory.
This ensures you always know exactly when a strong fighting fish has taken the bait and is taking line – what could be better than a screaming drag for an angler?

With the 80 mm aluminum handle with high-grip finesse knobs and the UTD, Ultimate Tournament Star Drag, you always have full control over the Queen of the Night.
