The reel no longer casts like it did on the first day. The cast is shorter, cranking is harder, the buzzing rougher. Most of the time, this is not due to the oil but the bearings. Standard bearings and plastic bushings are designed for mass production, not for lasting performance. This service combines a complete baitcaster maintenance with a full bearing upgrade at every single position, flat rate price €124.95 including all bearings, no fine print.

What is included in the complete service

The reel is completely disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned, and rebuilt with a matched bearing set. Each bearing position is analyzed individually: depending on function and load, we decide whether an APEX, EDGE, or CORE bearing is most suitable there. All plastic bushings are replaced. After installation, we check free spin, smoothness, and overall condition before the reel is returned.

Which bearing at which position

Not every spot in the reel has the same requirements. The spool bearing needs maximum rotational speed capability and minimal starting resistance, other positions require more stability under load. That’s why we don’t use a uniform bearing throughout the reel but decide precisely by position.

• APEX ceramic bearing, ABEC 9, S30 balls and PEEK cage, for high-speed positions such as the spool
• EDGE hybrid ceramic bearing, ABEC 9, S25 balls, for positions with medium load
• CORE stainless steel bearing, ABEC 5, for stable running positions where a high-speed bearing is not necessary but plastic does not belong

Send in the reel, analyze each bearing position, install with function check, return shipping. In 90% of cases, we have all required bearings in stock, so the conversion is quick and without waiting time. After the service, the reel runs noticeably freer, the spool starts earlier, and the free spin is measurably extended.

Compatibility

Maintain bearings yourself after the service

The new bearings are lubricated with the appropriate oils during installation and run cleanly from the first second. To maintain performance permanently, it’s best to use Alchemy Oil Ultra Light for APEX spool bearings and Glitch Oil High Spec for all other bearing positions.
