Important usage notes

🔹 Requires additional magnets:
Since the spool depth is shallower, the spool sits further from the original magnet, reducing braking power. Therefore, 8 additional magnets (MAG φ4x1mm) must be installed to optimally adjust the brake.

🔹 Magnet installation:

• Set the brake wheel to MAX
• Place 8 additional neodymium magnets (φ4×1mm) in alternating polarity (+/-) on the existing magnets
• Insert magnets only with non-magnetic tweezers to avoid damage to the ball bearings

🔹 Noise change due to O-ring omission:

• The spool was designed without an O-ring for weight reasons
• This can cause a slightly increased drive noise – not a defect, but due to design

🔹 Gentle handling of the spool:

• Avoid thumb pressure on the spool edge as the anodizing can wear off from friction
• Only spool nylon line with loose tension to prevent damage
• Do not pull on the spool when unhooking to avoid deformation

1️⃣ Push the return lever of the 23 Calcutta Conquest BFS backward
2️⃣ Lift & remove the side plate ("Main Body B")
3️⃣ Remove the original spool & insert the new spool (pay attention to alignment!)
4️⃣ Install additional magnets (MAG φ4×1mm)
5️⃣ Reinstall the side plate & push the lever forward
6️⃣ Fine-tune the brake force after the first cast

⚠ Tip for spool alignment: If the side plate won’t close, the spool might be tilted too much toward the palming side – simply loosen the mechanical brake a bit.
