🔧 Installation Instructions – Step by Step!

📌 Preparation:

🔹 Set all brakes to a low level to avoid tension.

🔩 Required tools:

✅ Slot screwdriver #3
✅ Original Offset-Wrench Locknut Key
✅ Special screwdriver for the Oil Injection Cap (included in the set!)

1️⃣ Remove Handle & Star Drag

1️⃣ Use the #3 flathead screwdriver to loosen the handle screw.
2️⃣ Remove Handle Plate & use the Offset-Wrench to loosen the Handle-Nut.
3️⃣ Once the mother is released, carefully twist it off with your fingers.

4️⃣ Handle Collar lift and remove easily with a screwdriver.
5️⃣ Remove Star Drag.
6️⃣ Remove spring.

Align & insert 2️⃣ Star Drag

🔹 The new Star Drag has a slightly different shape – it depends on the right alignment, which makes the installation easier later!

7️⃣ Make sure that points A & B are aligned on the groove and the axis (see instructions).
8️⃣ Carefully press the groove onto the shaft until it is flush.

❗ Do not use with force – otherwise parts may be damaged!

3️⃣ Replace Oil Injection Cap

📌 The Daiwa 24 Steez TW does NOT have a Zero Adjuster – therefore, the Oil Injection Cap must be removed!

9️⃣ Use the special OEM screwdriver to loosen the Oil Injection Cap counterclockwise.
🔟 Align the grooves of the "Oil Injection Cap" with the screwdriver and loosen them.
📌 The "Oil Injection Cap" is tightened clockwise and loosened counterclockwise.

1️⃣1️⃣ Remove the old Oil Injection Cap by hand as soon as it is loose.

1️⃣2️⃣ The "Oil Injection Cap" has been successfully removed.
1️⃣3️⃣ Replace it with a new "Oil Injection Cap".

1️⃣4️⃣ Pull them tight by hand.
📌 The "Oil Injection Cap" tightens clockwise and loosens counterclockwise.

📌 Attention: Do not over-tighten – otherwise the thread may be damaged!

1️⃣5️⃣ Finally, tighten the "Oil Injection Cap" slightly with the screwdriver.
📌 The 24 STEEZ TW features a Zero Adjuster-less Design.

Mount 4️⃣ Star Drag

1️⃣6️⃣ After replacing the "Oil Injection Cap", continue with the installation of the star brake.
Begin with the insertion of the spring.

1️⃣7️⃣ The new star drag brake is initially not properly aligned.
Use your thumb and middle finger to bring the outer and inner edges of the brake into a parallel position, as shown in (18) and (19).

2️⃣0️⃣ When inserting:
Make sure that the markings A and B on the Star Drag align with A of the drive shaft and B of the nut.

❗ Only when A and B are precisely aligned can the star brake be used without any issues!

2️⃣1️⃣ Press the star brake in the arrow direction, while ensuring that A and B remain aligned.

2️⃣2️⃣ When the star brake is properly seated, there is no gap between the brake and the roll body.

❗ No violent application!
If a gap remains, go back to the previous steps and check the alignment of A and B.

5️⃣ Assemble Handle & Star Drag final

2️⃣3️⃣ Once the star brake is correctly attached, attach the "Handle Collar".
2️⃣4️⃣ Set the handle on the axis.
2️⃣5️⃣ Tighten the handle nut with the wrench.

2️⃣6️⃣ Reattach the Handle Plate.
2️⃣7️⃣ Secure everything with the Handle Screw.

6️⃣ Replace coil

2️⃣8️⃣ Replace spool:
Slide the stop lever on the back of the reel (red circle) towards OPEN and remove the side plate (see illustration in (29).

3️⃣0️⃣ The Side Plate has been successfully removed.

3️⃣1️⃣ Carefully pull out the axis of the original spool (Genuine Spool).
3️⃣2️⃣ Insert the new Microcast spool.

3️⃣3️⃣ Reattach the side plate.

7️⃣ Finals Check

3️⃣4️⃣Pay attention to the correct installation direction of the coil.
📌 Incorrect installation and forceful closing of the side plate can lead to damage.

✔ The image shows the correct installation.
✔ The shown photo is a left-handed model.

3️⃣5️⃣The exchange of all three components is now complete.
To conclude, switch several times between tight (High) and loose (Low) drag settings to ensure that everything is correctly assembled.

📌 The Drag Clicker is integrated and emits an audible clicking sound when adjusted.
